Recently, the joint venture formed by China State Construction and Wengfu (Group) Co., Ltd. won the bid for Phosphoric Acid Plant Project in Egypt.
This is the largest project in terms of overseas general contracting in the phosphorus chemical industry of China. It is another operation achievement of China State Construction in the Egyptian market, following Egypt’s New Capital Central Business District Project, marking that China State Construction has made breakthroughs in its operations in the overseas industrial field.
The project is located at Abu Tartour of New Valley Governorate in the southwest of Egypt. The proposed plant will be used to produce commercial-grade phosphoric acid products; the employer is El Wady for Phosphate Industries and Fertilizers (WAPHCO) of Egypt. The scope of the contract includes the EPC of temporary facilities on-site, process facilities, utilities, storage and transport facilities, and supporting facilities both on and off site. A 500,000t/a P2O5 wet processing phosphoric acid plant, a supporting 1,600,000t/a sulfuric acid device and relevant utilities as well as waste heat recovery devices will be constructed.
